The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating following an attempted larceny of an ATM early Sunday morning.
The police department shared a release on Sunday saying multiple suspects attempted to steal an ATM from the Bank of America located at 851 Willow Drive.
Officers responded at 5:44 a.m. after the suspects detached the ATM using a chain attached to a pickup truck. The release from Chapel Hill Police said the ATM was damaged, but no money is believed to have been taken.
The police department said the truck used by the suspects was a stolen vehicle from a construction site on Dobbins Drive. Anyone who sees a white work truck with “NYC, LLC Underground Construction” on the side and the license plate EZ7754 is requested to call 911 to report its location.

Chapel Hill Police said the investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
