The Hillsborough Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store that occurred Thursday morning.

A release from the town government said around 9:15 a.m., two masked subjects entered the Circle K Kangaroo Express located at 500 South Churton Street. Police report the two suspects were armed with handguns and demanded money from the business and one customer.

A Circle K employee sustain minor injuries during the robbery, according to the Hillsborough Police Department. The person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment following the incident.

The department’s release said Hillsborough investigators are working with other, surrounding jurisdictions and are asking the public for any information related to the event.
