Do you need or want to get tested for COVID-19? Orange County is still offering free testing at two locations in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough — though the Hillsborough location recently changed.
COVID-19 testing is now available in Hillsborough at 113 Mayo Street, in the parking lot outside the Department of Social Services. Testing is available there on weekdays from 11-7 and Sundays from 10-2.
If you’re planning to get tested at the Hillsborough location, pre-registration with Starmed is encouraged; you can pre-register at this link. (Select Orange County when registering.)
Orange County is also offering free COVID-19 testing in Chapel Hill, every weekday from 7-3 and Saturdays from 9-4 at the Southern Human Services Center on Homestead Road. Pre-registration is also encouraged at this location; you can pre-register at this link before you go.
In addition to free COVID-19 testing, Orange County is also offering free vaccinations and booster shots at two walk-in clinics. In Chapel Hill, you can get COVID-19 vaccines on weekdays from 8:30-4:30 at the Southern Human Services Center. In Hillsborough, vaccines are available Monday through Saturday from 9-5 at the Whitted Building on W. Tryon Street.
Visit the Orange County Health Department’s website for more information on the COVID-19 vaccine.
