Editor’s Note: Orchid Threading & Spa’s soft opening ceremony was delayed to Monday, May 5. The public is invited to attend from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., where there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and refreshments.
A new spa and beauty salon option is coming to downtown Chapel Hill.
Orchid Threading & Spa, a new business venture from Momo’s Master owner Ramesh Dahal, will host a soft opening event on Monday, April 14. The spa will set up shop at 400 West Rosemary Street in Suite 1004.
“Our mission is to bring health, happiness, and beauty to Chapel Hill and the Triangle Area,” said Dahal in an email to Chapeboro. “Just as Momo’s Master has sought to promote health and happiness through fresh, delicious food and drinks, so too does Orchid Threading & Spa with an emphasis on beauty.”
The spa will offer a variety of services, including eyelash and eyebrow threading, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, body and facial waxing, henna ink tattoos, and more. It will be managed by Kabita Chhetri, who Dahal says has years of experience as a beautician.
“With her expertise guiding Orchid Threading & Spa, your health, happiness, and beauty will be in the best and kindest of hands,” he said.
The suite in the 400 West Rosemary mixed-use building is the former location of Chapel Hill Training, and Dahal said he is excited for the walkable location for nearby residents and the UNC campus.
Dahal first opened Momo’s Master, a Himalayan momo dumpling joint, in 2021. He then opened the tapas and cocktails bar “Basecamp” in 2022, which he closed in 2023 to focus on Momo’s.
After opening its doors, Orchid will operate Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be closed on Mondays.
