
“Conversations We Need To Have” is a new interview series on News on The Hill that seeks to center conversations of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our community.
The topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has become a hot-button issue in Chapel Hill over the course of 2024. The fallout of divestment of funding at UNC has restarted old discourse and begun new conversations about how these issues are handled at every level.
The first episode of “Conversations We Need To Have” features a panel discussion including Town of Chapel Hill Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer Shenekia Weeks, President of the Northern Orange NAACP Matt Hughes, Orange County Chief Equity Inclusion Officer Paul Slack and Carrboro Chief Race and Equity Officer Anita Jones-McNair.
