Hillsborough Mayor Mark Bell spoke with 97.9 The Hill’s Andrew Stuckey on Tuesday, August 13. He discussed the events of the day that began with a convicted murderer escaping a transport vehicle at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough, and the ensuing search throughout that part of town. He discussed the communication that has taken place between law enforcement and the town, and the impact he has seen around the community. He also talked about cleanup around town and the Riverwalk after Tropical Storm Debby passed through the area, and more.
