The North Carolina Tar Heel football team has cracked the Top 25.

UNC is ranked 21st in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 college football poll.

This is the first time Carolina has been ranked among the top 25 since being ranked in the 21st spot in the poll on September 2, 2015.

This marks the latest point in the season where the Tar Heels have been ranked since checking in at number 23 on November 22, 2009.

Carolina is also slotted in the 21st spot in the Amway Coaches Poll.

UNC is undefeated in Coastal Division play and will take on rival Duke during homecoming weekend on Saturday at Kenan Stadium The Blue Devils lost for the first time in conference play this season on a heart-breaking last play against Miami on Saturday. The game between Duke and Carolina is sold out.

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday night at seven o’clock.
