Local Democratic leaders were re-elected to the North Carolina House and Senate on Tuesday.

Democratic incumbent Senator Valerie Foushee won re-election over Republican challenger Mary Lopez Carter by more than 37,000 votes at a 74/26 margin.

Democratic incumbent Graig Meyer defeated Republican challenger Rod Chaney by a 59/41 margin for another term in the North Carolina House of Representatives. Democratic incumbent Verla Insko will also serve another term in the North Carolina House after running unopposed.
