One person was injured in a shooting in Chapel Hill early Monday.

A release from Chapel Hill Police says officers responded to a shooting on Forsyth Drive at approximately 3:15 Monday morning.

Police say an unidentified suspect fired multiple gunshots into an occupied residence before leaving the area.

One victim was struck by a bullet and transported to the UNC Hospitals Emergency Department for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time.
