The Art of Healing Justice 10th Anniversary Celebration Fundraiser

What: Healing Justice will host its 10th Anniversary Celebration Fundraiser, in connection with the Art of Healing Justice exhibit at Golden Belt Campus. The celebration and fundraiser will honor those harmed by wrongful convictions, celebrate those who have begun their healing journey with Healing Justice, and help raise much-needed funds to continue to provide support to those harmed.

Who: Approximately 100 guests, including Healing Justice Founder/Crime Survivor Jennifer Thompson and people who have been exonerated, crime survivors, and loved ones. 

When: Thursday, November 13, 6-8:30 PM

Where: Golden Belt Campus (The Great Hall): 807 E. Main Street, Durham

Why: This event will amplify the voices of those often overlooked in these injustices – the loved ones and survivors.

Wrongful convictions cause unimaginable harm to everyone impacted by them: individuals who have been exonerated, crime victims and survivors, family members, prosecutors, police, jurors, judges, and other victim service providers. The human toll is far-ranging, long-lasting, and multi-generational. The challenges are exacerbated when individuals feel alone in their experiences, without the opportunity to share their losses and grief, and to find genuine understanding.
