Twenty-five years ago, Irene Harrison Strowd made a gift to the Town of Chapel Hill that built on the community rose garden first created by her husband, Gene Strowd—and helped it grow into something far beyond a rose garden. On September 27th, we’re celebrating in the best place possible: the garden itself.
Come celebrate with us and explore the garden as it is today and hear about Strowd Roses’ work in the community. A guided tour will share the story of Gene Strowd’s original garden, its growth over 25 years, recovery after Tropical Storm Chantal, and the vision shaping it today. Sisters’ Voices will perform.
Free and open to everyone. No registration required.
