Kathleen Duval, author of Native Nations: A Millennium in North America, the 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner for History, joins us to present a new look at the Indigenous history of the Roanoke encounter with Europeans in the 16th century. Afterward, we’ll convene a panel of scholars for a broad discussion of Indigenous studies, its evolution and implications in the classroom and across the state.
