Golden Heroes 5K

Hi! We’re CPALS, a non-profit student organization at UNC-Chapel Hill that works closely with UNC Children’s Hospitals to support their pediatric hematology and oncology patients (our pals!). CPALS members are paired with a patient and family and accompany them during inpatient stays or treatment in the clinic, building meaningful relationships for both our patients and our volunteers.

We also raise awareness and funds for our CPALS Scholarship Program and CPALS Cares Grant. With your help, we provide immediate and long-term financial assistance to our deserving pals and their families.

It’s time for our annual Golden Heroes 5K, one of our largest fundraisers of the year! Join us on the UNC campus for a community-building walk/run/race on the morning of April 12 in support of the hematology-oncology clinic. Bring your running shoes, water, and a friend!

We focus on direct contributions to care, research, and support programs. Your generosity directly impacts real children and their families: 100% of proceeds go towards supporting the pediatric hematology and oncology patients.
