More about Professor Hurlbert
Allen Hurlbert is interested in large-scale patterns of abundance, distribution, and diversity, especially of birds and insects. In the Hurlbert Lab at UNC they ask questions about the structure of ecological communities, and the processes that are responsible for determining the patterns of diversity, composition, turnover and relative abundance both within local assemblages and across the globe.
Dr. Hurlbert is also a leader in the Carolina Biodiversity Collaborative, which is dedicated to tackling the biodiversity crisis head-on. To learn more about the Carolina Biodiversity Collaborative, visit their website: cbc.unc.edu
