Afternoon Tea Party

The Quiltmaker Cafe, a local 501(c)(3) charitable organisation, will host an Afternoon Tea party from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The event celebrates the cafe’s Pay It Forward model, which ensures that members of the community can enjoy a healthy meal regardless of their financial circumstances

The cafe is led by Executive Director Jennie Knowlton, who was recently awarded North Carolina’s Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service, one of the state’s highest honours for volunteerism. Only a small number of recipients are selected across North Carolina each year, recognising exceptional contributors to their communities

More than simply serving meals, The Quiltmaker Cafe seeks to foster connection, dignity and a sense of belonging. Its mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a healthy meal, regardless of their ability to give.

The Afternoon tea is being hosted in partnership with The Vintage Teapot, which is providing the traditional English Afternoon Tea service, vintage china and table settings. Together the organizations hope to create a welcoming and memorable occasion that brings people together whilst highlighting the importance of community support and food accessibility.
