Ackland Art Museum Docents Program applications are now available!

Our docents are a dedicated group of volunteer educators who generously offer their time, talents, and expertise to support the Museum’s education programs for K–12 students and teachers, community members, and local organizations.

We are looking for individuals who are interested in art and who can engage meaningfully with the diverse communities we serve. Successful Ackland Docents are excellent communicators who value and demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and creativity.

No prior background or expertise in art, art history, or teaching is required. Docents receive training that prepares them to lead interactive tours and programs with confidence.

The 2026–2027 application for the Ackland Docent Program is now available online through Friday, May 22. To access the application, visit: https://ackland.org/support/get-involved/docent-program/
