Elizabeth Haddix recently served as the sole attorney and full-time staff person in the only regional office of the Washington DC-based Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, managing a full docket of voting rights, education, and environmental justice high-impact litigation until May 2022. From 2010 through 2017, Elizabeth was Senior Staff Attorney at the University of North Carolina Center for Civil Rights where she expanded the focus of the Center’s community-based advocacy and led the Center’s innovative environmental justice docket. Before 2010, Elizabeth practiced employment and civil rights law with the firm of Edelstein & Payne in Raleigh. Elizabeth grew up in Mississippi, earned her B.A. from Duke University, and taught public high school in Eastern North Carolina before earning a J.D. from the UNC School of Law in 1998.

Judge Todd Roper is the District Court Judge for Chatham and Orange Counties. In his 30-years in Chatham County, Judge Roper has raised three children, coached children’s sports teams, participated in many community organizations, and litigated cases in the State Court of Appeals and the State Supreme Court.

This week, Tim Keim is an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist and works with sufferers of age-related capacity loss, spinal conditions and back pain. He has over 10,000 personal hours on the yoga mat that have given him unique insight into structural conditions in the body. Tim is also a holistic health practitioner and a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda. Tim has cured himself of Crohn’s Disease and other conditions with natural health methods and helps others do the same.

Marcus Ginyard is Vice President of Medalist Capital, a commercial real estate financial services firm, where he works in business development. Prior to his time atMedalist, he played professional basketball throughout Europe for 11 years. Marcus is a student athlete graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and continues to support and serve his alma mater. In October 2022 he will begin terms on both the Advisory Board of the Rams Club and on the Institute for the Environment’s Board of Visitors. Marcus is very closely involved with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and loves connecting with and giving back to the local community.
