Judge Todd Roper is the District Court Judge for Chatham and Orange Counties. In his 30-years in Chatham County, Judge Roper has raised three children, coached children’s sports teams, participated in many community organizations, and litigated cases in the State Court of Appeals and the State Supreme Court. Roper has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and BA from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa where he played football under legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. He received his JD from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham. He “truly believes in taking care of the poor, orphans, widows, and loving my neighbor. Prior to his time atMedalist, he played professional basketball throughout Europe for 11 years. Marcus is a student athlete graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and continues to support and serve his alma mater. In October 2022 he will begin terms on both the Advisory Board of the Rams Club and on the Institute for the Environment’s Board of Visitors. Marcus is very closely involved with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and loves connecting with and giving back to the local community.
