The woman who left a service dog in a car in Carrboro for approximately two hours which resulted in the dog’s death has been charged with one count of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

Laurence Lovette Jr., one of two men convicted in the 2008 death of former UNC student body president Eve Carson, to life in prison with out the possibility of parole Monday.
A recent Supreme Court ruling mandating review of automatic sentencing guidelines means that Lovette, who was 17 at the time of the murder, should be re-sentenced.
