North Carolina’s 2013 field hockey season came to an end Friday evening in the NCAA Championship semifinals at L.R. Hill Sports Complex, where the No. 3 Tar Heels fell to No. 4 Connecticut 2-1 after a penalty shootout.

“It should get our guys’ attention that the team that beat us lost to the guys we’re getting ready to play next. Chris [Richmond coach] does a really nice job with his team, he always has. They play more of a half-court game,” Coach Williams says.
