The Carrboro Town Council recently discussed its comprehensive plan, “Carrboro Connects.” This is the first comprehensive plan for Carrboro. The council viewed the proposed final draft with a vote whether to pass scheduled for June.
Friday morning, UNC held a dedication ceremony for the Hortense McClinton residence hall and the Henry Owl Building. The university installed these Carolina trailblazers’ names on two buildings whose prior names were tied to white supremacy.
This week is the last for early voting ahead of the primary on Tuesday. North Carolina holds semi-closed primaries. This means registered Republicans, Democrats and Libertarians must vote with their affiliated party, but unaffiliated voters may choose any ballot. Experts say those unaffiliated voters have become the largest group of voters in our state.
After decades of work, the 203 South Greensboro Project finally broke ground Thursday afternoon. The $41 million project between the Town of Carrboro and the Orange County government plans to house the southern branch of the Orange County library and other municipal programming.
Orange and Chatham counties recently began their budget planning process for the next fiscal year. County commissioners will take the next several weeks to hear public input and finalize the budgets.
