This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Triangle Mutual Aid.

Triangle Mutual Aid is a grassroots community collective response to human needs. It started in Carrboro when residents came together to give out water during a town wide water shutdown. Since then, it has grown to helping neighbors with everyday needs and includes disaster relief. They sent people out west to help with the devastation from Hurricane Helene and now helping our community in the recovery from Tropical Depression Chantal. They have helped with clean up, gathered food, and have offered childcare, spare bedrooms, and empty houses for people displaced.
