This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Kaimon Rucker.
Most of us are familiar with Kaimon Rucker’s success on the football field, but as bright as his star shines on the field, his star shines brighter off the field. Rucker is well-known for his charity and volunteer work, including as a mentor in his church and an advocate for mental health on campus. Rucker has an initiative at his elementary school in Georgia through which he buys backpacks full of various hygiene products for students. Most recently, Rucker gave $10,000 of his NIL money to the MANNA Food Bank in Asheville to help with Hurricane Relief. Rucker’s donation became a $30,000 donation to MANNA Food Bank when Wells Fargo and Food Lion offered to match his donation.
