A trio of Tar Heels were honored by the ACC Tuesday. Deja Kelly and Alyssa Ustby were each named first team all-conference, and Kennedy Todd-Williams was named to the second team.

It’s the second year in a row Kelly has been named first team All-ACC. The standout junior guard led Carolina in points (16.5), assists (3.3) and minutes (35.5) per game this season. She ranked in the league’s top 15 in points per game (fifth), assists per game (11th), field goal percentage (38.1, 11th), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3, 12th) and free throw percentage (71.3, 14th). Kelly was named the MVP of the Phil Knight Invitational in November and is a member of both the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team and the Late Season Top 20 Watch List for the Wooden Award. Both the Naismith and Wooden awards honor the national player of the year.

Ustby was named second team All-ACC last season, and followed that up with first team honors this season. The versatile wing ranks in the ACC’s top 10 in field goal percentage (51.9, third), rebounds per game (8.7, fourth), blocks per game (1.2, ninth) and steals per game (2.0, ninth). Ustby was Carolina’s leading rebounder on the season, and like Kelly is a member of the Naismith Midseason Team. In addition, Ustby was named to the top 10 list for the Cheryl Miller Award, which honors the best small forward in women’s college basketball.

Todd-Williams is making her debut on the All-ACC teams. The junior is second on the team in scoring at 13.6 points per game, which ranks 12th in the league. A durable guard, Todd-Williams is the only Tar Heel to start every game this season and ranks ninth in the conference in minutes per game.

The Tar Heels will be back in action Thursday night as they begin ACC Tournament play against either Pittsburgh or Clemson in the second round. Tip-off in Greensboro is scheduled for 6 p.m.
