Former UNC head men’s basketball coach Roy Williams is listed as a scheduled presenter for this year’s ESPY Awards, which will take place on Saturday night.
Williams retired following the conclusion of UNC’s season back in March after a wildly successful career in which he won 903 games during his time at both Kansas and UNC, three NCAA championships with the Tar Heels, three ACC Tournament title and three Big 12 Tournament titles. He also reached nine Final Fours during his 33 seasons as a head coach.
The ESPY’s annually celebrate the best moments from the past year in sports, and will have Williams join other presenters such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski, Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Joe Namath, New York Knicks star forward Julius Randle and many others across the realms of both sports and entertainment.
It was not revealed which award that Williams will be presenting.
The ESPY’s will be broadcast live on ABC this Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. from The Rooftop at Pier 17 at the Seaport in New York City.
More information on the event can be found on ESPN’s website.
