This week’s WCHL Hometown Hero Award goes to multiple people, to some Hometown Heroes. Ron Stutts spoke with Police Chief Duane Hampton about officers in the Hillsborough Police Department who have saved lives, helped kids with a safe place to play and worked through a difficult situation where a woman was shoplifting to feed her family. These are the men and women who protect and serve our community, and each one of them is a Hometown Hero. WCHL is proud to recognize Police Chief Duane Hampton, Office Micheal Toellen, Sgt. Jason Huey, Officer Heather Blackwell, Officer Chad Wilson, Corporal Keith Bradshaw, Officer Candace Spragans, and Lt. Brad Whitted for their contribution to our community.
