Looking for a wonderful event to support during May then consider the Pittsboro Relay for Life on May 20-21.

The team at the Duke Center for Living Team has been supporting this wonderful cause for many years and this year has a goal of raising $2,250 for the American Cancer Society. Unfortunately most families have been affected by cancer which makes this event worthy of consideration as you line up your weekend commitments and ways to give back to the community.

My family has been affected by cancer with both my parents and I am proud to know there continues to be research and development in seeking a cure.

Please get involved and register to walk, purchase a luminary “in memory” or “in honor” of a loved one, purchase a “Demolish Cancer” hammer to be placed at DCFL’s entrance or make a general monetary donation of any amount. The walk will be held near Northwood High School track throughout the night of May 20th starting at 6pm. You can register at www.relayforlife.org/pittsboro to join the DCFL Team in the fight against cancer or you can stop by DCFL and fill out a registration form. The registration fee is only $10. Everyone is welcome to participate from walkers to runners to those in wheelchairs.

Let’s celebrate more birthdays while we demolish cancer one step at a time! Those are my thoughts! Take a moment and share your success story on “demolishing cancer”.
