The top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team continued its winning ways Sunday morning at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, knocking off the Syracuse Orange 6-1.
It didn’t take long for the Tar Heels (14-1, 3-0 ACC) to clinch the doubles point, as Jessie Aney and Alexa Graham won their set 6-2 while Sara Daavettila and Alle Sanford followed up with a 6-0 win to put UNC on the scoreboard first.
From there, four of the Tar Heels’ five singles victories came in straight sets.
Syracuse (9-2) got its only point when No. 18 Gabriela Knutson upset No. 8 Alle Sanford 7-6, 7-6.
