CHAPEL HILL – UNC Baseball’s star freshman from last season, Skye Bolt, was cited for underage possession and being in possession of an open container of a malt beverage Saturday.

Chapel Hill Police Public Information Lt., Kevin Gunter, confirmed that the 19-year-old sophomore, Bolt, received the citations Saturday in the 600 block of Church Street.

Sports information director, Bobby Hundley, says head coach Mike Fox says he will handle the discipline internally.

Bolt was drafted in the 26th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals. However, he decided to enroll at UNC where he was named a second team All-ACC performer after posting a .359 average with 10 doubles, six home runs and 44 RBIs in 38 games with the Tar Heels. He suffered a broken foot mid-way through the season but returned just before postseason, in which Carolina was knocked out by UCLA one game before the championship series. The Bruins went on to win the national title defeating Mississippi State 2-0.
