CHAPEL HILL – UNC Student Body President Christy Lambden says administrators are making a mistake by changing the drop-add policy.

“I think that they’ll avoid taking those challenging classes because they’re not able to drop them at a later date,” Lambden says.

UNC’s General Administration is proposing to cut down on the length of time students have to drop a class they no longer want to take.

“It currently proposes that we cut our drop-add period, which currently stands at eight weeks, down to 10 days,” Lambden says.

The current drop-add policy also requires students to wait 10 days before they drop a class.
