Jordan Maly-Preuss, a 2013 graduate of UNC, has been selected for the prestigious Ertegun Graduate Scholarship Program.

The scholarship funds graduate studies in humanities at the University of Oxford. The award was given out to 18 students for one-year and two-year full time master’s degree’s and for three-year doctoral degrees.

Maly-Preuss grew up between the Czech Republic and Texas. She graduated from high school in Greensboro and received an undergraduate degree in Biology from UNC with minors in music history and Modern Hebrew.

She then completed her two year post-baccalaureate certificate in Classics at Carolina. While at Oxford she plans to study Greek and Latin Linguistics. Preuss said attending Oxford has always been a childhood dream.

“I’ve dreamt of attending Oxford since childhood and now I’m blessed with the scholarship I hoped for and membership at my top choice college,” Preuss said in a release.
