Today is Monday, November 2, 2015.  We met a couple of airplane doppelgangers.    Also, there is some ironic news on self-driving cars and a penguin takes on a diving board.

Airplane Doppelgangers

A bearded man gets on a plane.  He sees another bearded man.

But, not just any bearded man.  Neil Thomas Douglas saw a man who looks like he could be his twin.  He tells The Guardian how it all happened.  “I asked him to move and when the guy looked up, I thought: ‘he looks like me.’”

They snapped a selfie and went on their way.

But, the airplane doppelgangers evidently were staying in the same Galway, Ireland hotel.  They bumped into each other there and then crossed paths again at a local pub.

See the selfie of the airplane doppelgangers shared by the director of Wire Media, Lee Beattie, below.

Self-Driving Cars

A new study finds that self-driving test cars are involved in crashes at five times the rate of conventional cars.  Even when the figures are adjusted to take into account that many accidents involving conventional cars go unreported, the study from the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute found that the rate is still twice as high.

But, in almost every case, the self-driving car was not at fault.  No accidents have been reported from self-driving cars going haywire and a human is always on board in case something goes wrong.

Eight of the 11 crashes occurred last year as more self-driving hit the road in California, where most of the testing is taking place.

Penguin vs. Diving Board

What happens when a penguin tried to dive off of a high diving board?

Chris Cohen has thankfully translated such an event.  You can see how that goes below.
