The Orange County Board of Commissioners has created a Bond Education Committee and is searching for residents to fill four at-large positions on the board.
The county will vote in November whether or not to allow the commissioners to issue two bonds, totaling up to $125 million, the would be used to increase affordable housing and to make repairs and update local schools.
The committee will help design and develop a campaign to help spread important information about the bond to the community.
They will also help create a process for information meetings with civic groups, non-profit agencies, neighborhood associations, and other interested parties in the community.
There will be additional members from housing non-profit organizations, schools and the county for a total of 14 members on the committee.
