Aaron Vandemark, owner of Panciuto in Hillsborough has been named a James Beard Award Semifinalist for the sixth consecutive year.

Vandemark, along with six other NC chefs, is one of 20 nominees for the best chef in the Southeast region.

He started Panciuto in 2006, and the restaurant is a blend of Italian food and Southern ingredients.

Nearly 90 percent of every meal is made with products from North Carolina farmers, according to the restaurant’s website.

Finalists for the awards will be named on Tuesday, March 15 and the winners will be announced April 26.
