RALEIGH – A sixth person was injured at the North Carolina State Fair as a 35-year-old worker was hurt while disassembling a ride.

WRAL reports the man was hurt early Monday morning when taking apart a ride called The Vortex. This is not the same ride that sent five to the hospital and led to the arrest of one man for tampering with safety equipment.

The injured man was taken to WakeMed with a leg injury, according to State Fair officials. Another worker claimed the man was breaking down the ride when something came swinging “out of nowhere”.

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as an industrial accident.
