Today is Thursday, January 28, 2016.  Ben of “Ben and Jerry’s” is sharing his new Bernie’s Yearning ice cream in honor of Bernie Sanders.  Uber is cracking down on drunk passengers and a famous potato.

Bernie’s Yearning

Ben Cohen, the Ben in “Ben and Jerry’s,” is releasing a new flavor of ice cream.

It’s called Bernie’s Yearning.

The ice cream was created in honor of presidential candidate and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.  Ben has been a constituent and supporter of Sanders’ for years.

Bernie’s Yearning features a solid chocolate top and plain, mint ice cream underneath.

According to the website, the solid chocolate disk at the top represents the small percentage of people in the US who hold the nation’s power and wealth. Mr. Cohen explained that the eater should use a heavy spoon to crack the chocolate and mix it up with the rest of the ice cream, just as Mr Sanders aims to “distribute the wealth.”

Ben explains in the video below.

Drunk Uber

Uber has had enough of its drunk passengers.

In Charlotte, they’re testing a “Bop It” toys in the backseat.  The goal is to stop drunken passengers from assaulting drivers.  If passengers are engaged with something else, they may be less likely to become enraged.

A California man was caught on a dashboard camera repeatedly hitting his driver, grabbing his hair and slamming his head against a window. Earlier this month, a medical student from Miami was caught trying to hit an Uber driver, and throwing his items out of the window of the passenger seat.

In Seattle, Uber drivers are putting mirrors in front of the backseat so that drunk passengers can see their drunk selves in the mirror.

Royal Potato

Somebody bought a potato.

That isn’t news.

He paid over $1 million for it.

That’s different.  See the famous potato here.
