I feel that spring has finally arrived.  Air is warmer.  You take a drive to enjoy this and what do you find?

A pack of Lance Armstrong wannabes on a road that doesn’t have a passing zone for miles.

If you pull out to pass, you will be in the opposing lane with low visibility for oncoming traffic.

Now, I know that we are told that we have to share the roads with the bicyclists.  Now what could possibly go wrong?  When you are at that point to say that you can pass any car that’s moving too slow for you, here is your free pass.

I have to assume that the DOT put those double yellow lines there for a reason.  When there is a double solid line, it means engineers have reviewed the location and do not believe there is sufficient distance to permit the majority of drivers to pass safely.

But, because they are constantly getting behind mopeds, garbage trucks, buses, and yes bicycles they think it is more dangerous for them to stay behind, not being allowed to pass because of that pesky double yellow line.
