The challenge has been fun, and I have tried lots of new things in my goal to complete the BINGO card. Last Sunday I finished all the items on the card, the last one being rock climbing at the Cary facility. That was the toughest thing I have done so far, and my hands are still raw from clinging to the wall. On my best climb, I made it about a third of the way up the wall. I can see going back and trying again as I get in better shape and build stronger muscles.

The toughest class I took was Cardio Sculpt whose description reads, “Strengthen and tone your muscles from head to toe while using vigorous movements to also strengthen the heart! Will use a variety of equipment.” That is just an understatement. It was a circuit training class, where we moved from area to area doing different exercise stations. We used kettlebells, ran sprints, jumped as high as we could, used steppers and much more. That was the most intense hour of exercise. I hope to try the class again towards the end of the challenge to see if it has become any easier.

I really enjoyed the Aqua Moves class in the warm pool. While I am in the class it feels like I am playing in the pool, but later my body feels like it had a good workout. I also tried a yoga class. Yoga isn’t my most favorite, but it was a nice change of pace. I think I may try Yoga Flow before the program is over to compare a different yoga style.

The BINGO card items seem deceptively simple. Jump rope for at least 10 minutes – how hard can that be? It turns out that is really hard! I was totally worn out after 5 minutes, but pushed my way through. It has been great trying the new and different things, and I did discover many activities I will try again. Of course, I really enjoyed my free massage at Massage Envy!

My go-to exercises are Zumba, the elliptical, the treadmill and weight lifting. That is what I probably would have contained myself to if it had not been for the BINGO card. Thanks for making us branch out – I may never get bored with my exercise routine again!
