Today is Wednesday, April 27, 2016.  We learn something about celebrities.  But, you also have a best friend.

Creative People are Psychopaths

There might be an explanation for celebrity news.  Researchers at De La Salle University in Manila examined 503 participants with gambling tasks and questionnaires, believe that impulsive risk-taking – a psychopathic trait – might be key to creative people’s success.

The researchers said, “We argue that emotional disinhibition, in the form of psychopathic boldness, is actually integral to some creative personalities and functionally related to the creative process.”

People Are Trying to Sound Like Celebrities

Do you want to sound like Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry?

Well, people are trying.  These celebrities use something called “vocal fry” or “creaky voice.”  It involves elongating certain syllables so that they vibrate at the back of the throat, creating a tapping sound like a stick running along a railing.  Think how “no way becomes “no waaaaay.”

The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama has gone so far as to describe it as a speech impediment.
