Today is Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Do you have man flu? Get ready to see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn…but not Uranus. Plus there’s a dog arguing with a squirrel.
Man Flu
So, Man Flu could be just incessant whining. A sick man’s pain, aches, and groans could be a real thing.
Or not.
It’s well-known the immune system is influenced by sex hormones. The female sex hormone, estrogen, tends to increase inflammation, while the male hormone, testosterone, decreases it.
Men are also more likely to get infections while women tend to have better responses to vaccines. With the current study, a team from Johns Hopkins University found estrogen has antiviral effects against the influenza A virus, more simply known as the flu. These effects could actually protect women from the more aggressive symptoms of the illness.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn
But, not Uranus.
A rare celestial show will appear in pre-dawn skies this week. For the first time in 11 years, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible at the same time in the sky.
All five planets will can be seen just before dawn at 6.50 am ET on Wednesday, January 20.
Hold your arm up straight from the moon to the horizon and the five planets should fall along that line. If you look up, from left to right in a diagonal line you will see Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter.
