Portia McKnight and Flo Hawley probably did not grow up imagining that they’d one day be the cheese queens of Chapel Hill. With farmhouse cheeses made from their own Jersey herd, they even named several of their creations after local landmarks – Calvander and Hickory Grove. And let’s not forget Carolina Moon, New Moon, and Farmers’ Cheese. Yummy cheese from soulful-eyed cows … gotta like that!
