Vote for Valerie Foushee for US House: An Experienced Candidate

A perspective from Lynne Kane

Vote for Valerie Foushee for US House of Representatives.  Foushee has years of experience with public education, and in the NC House and Senate she has supported people’s needs: a living wage, childcare, women’s rights, healthcare and reproductive rights.

Valerie Foushee is in touch with many constituencies and understands the legislative process.  She knows how to get things done.

Recent criticism of a national donor to Foushee’s campaign ignores the importance of shared intelligence in today’s global politics.  As a Black American woman, Valerie Foushee recognizes the injustice of demonizing a minority.

No doubt Foushee is aware that Israeli Arabs and Israeli Muslims do not leave Israel to live in the Islamic Republics of the Middle East.  There are Israeli Muslims in Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset, and on Israel’s Supreme Court.

The Palestinians took Hitler’s advice and refused a state with a sliver cut out for Israel, the Biblical Jewish homeland.  The Arabs supported the Nazis in WWII to oppose Britain and France, which had controlled the Middle East.  Except Palestinians, no other country with redrawn boundaries after the twentieth century wars has spent most of its money and efforts to return to pre-war conditions.

The Palestinians need leaders who will build an economic infrastructure instead of large cement tunnels into Israel for terror.  A Palestinian election perhaps would have brought new leaders focused on improving Palestinians’ lives after decades of attacking Israel, but the election last Spring was simply cancelled.

Those Americans who enjoy making false claims against Israel have not attended the public forum when two area police officers spoke about their police training visit in Israel, in which no military equipment was involved.

Those dedicated to reject self-determination for Jews in their ancient homeland will continue to omit mention of regular Palestinian raids into Israel and of Iran’s support for Hamas and Hezbollah.

Valerie Foushee is the candidate with the broadest background to work effectively to pass legislation fair to minorities and for all America.  I unreservedly support Valerie Foushee as our excellent next Representative in the US House.
