Today is Wednesday, June 1, 2016. This is your brain on Facebook. Women like their husband on Facebook. North Korean social media gets hacked.
This is Your Brain on Facebook
Social media changes the way teenagers interact with people. It also affects their brain. When a teenager sees a lot of likes on their photos, the same brain circuits that light up when you eat chocolate or win money are activated.
Teenagers are also heavily influenced by their online peers, even if they don’t know them.
Husband on Facebook
The word “husband” is among the most frequently used words by women on Facebook. Women also use words like “friends” and “family” on social media.
Men rarely use the word “wife” on the site. Instead, words like “government” and “bet” are top words. They also swear more.
North Korean Social Media Hack
North Korea’s Facebook clone was hacked by a teenager from Scotland. He correctly guessed the login (‘admin’) and password (‘password’). After getting control of the site, he changed boxes to read, “Uh, I didn’t create this site just found the login.”
The clone was recently discovered by western internet users. The site has been taken offline. North Korea is one of the least connected countries in the world. Experts estimate that only a few hundred people have the internet in North Korea, most of them are government officials.
