Today is Tuesday, June 21, 2016.  We learn about the chatty gene.  We got a strawberry moon.  LeBron Jr. gets scholarships.

Chatty Gene

The gene that makes people chatty was discovered and could lead to treatments for autism.

Scientists say that when the gene OXT is reduced people produce less oxytocin through a process called methylation.  Oxytocin is known as the “cuddle hormone.”  It plays a big part in human bonding.  According to a study, participants with greater methylation of the OXY gene are less accurate in understanding people’s emotional states.  That’s common in autism.  Learn more.

Strawberry Moon

They call it a strawberry moon because Algonquin tribes thought it signaled that fruit, such as strawberries, were ready for harvesting.  It’s a full moon that happens during the summer solstice.

On Monday night, sky gazers saw this moon for the first time since 1967.  If you missed it, just wait 46 years for the next one.

LeBron Jr.

LeBron James Jr. is 11.  But, of course, his dad is LeBron James and he’s been showing off his own basketball skills.  Now, “Bronny” is getting college offers.  A source says he already has scholarship offers from Kentucky and Duke.

Watch him work.
