Independent Animal Rescue has announced its sixteenth annual Painted Chair & More Auction, which will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 5-9 p.m. at the Levin Jewish Community Center in Durham.
This event is the animal rescue’s largest fundraiser with a goal to raise $45,000 for foster care and adoption programs of dogs and cats and spay/neuter programs of free-roaming cats and companion animals.
The silent auction will include hand-crafted painted furniture, artwork, jewelry, pottery, as well as performances, services, dining, and travel experiences. It will also feature mobile bidding and guests can use their smartphone to monitor and bid for items via their mobile device.
The silent auction will hosted by Luke Newbold of Leland Little Estate and Auction Sales of Hillsborough. Guests will also be treated to a performance by The Dogwood Blossom Band.
“IAR’s Painted Chair Auction is our signature fundraising event.” IAR’s President Alan Dow said in a release. “It helps us get to know the community we serve, while enabling us to care for homeless cats and dogs. We look forward to enjoying another outstanding evening of art, food, and music with our animal-loving friends to support a great organization.”
