This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Ginger Young from Book Harvest!

Ginger is the executive director and founder of Book Harvest, a non-profit providing books to families who need them and working towards promoting literacy and educational success in children. Ginger spoke with WCHL’s Ron Stutts about her personal journey as an avid reader since childhood.

“I was always driven to the library when I requested it. I was always allowed to take out as many books as I wanted, which meant that I would take out the maximum which in Atlanta, Georgia was 20 books every two weeks.”
