This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Will Nichols.
Will Nichols is the founder of SolarEquity, a non-profit at UNC that is aiming to make Chapel Hill more sustainable and equitable. SolarEquity works to transition affordable housing, non-profits, and churches to solar energy. Their latest project, the solarization of the Peach Apartments with EmPOWERment Inc., will not only reduce the carbon emissions, but it will also save the residents a lot of money per year.
