This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Tanvi Gaur.
Gaur is a Chapel Hill High School grad and now a Morehead Cain Scholar at UNC. She’s also the co-founder of the start-up Peer Advice. Gaur teamed up with her sister to start Peer Advice when she realized her college application process came with advantages that she could take for granted that other students don’t have access to at all. Instead of connecting them with high-priced counsellors, Peer Advice connects high schoolers with current college students who use their experiences to mentor high schoolers through the college application process and help them figure out what they want their college and career path to be.
