This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Skye David.
David is the staff attorney for the NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault. NCCASA. They work across the state to prevent and respond to sexual violence, including on the UNC campus. David provides free legal assistance to sexual assault survivors. She helps about 200-300 survivors every year. She can have multiple clients at one time, but she always makes each client her priority and gives them her full attention when she’s working with them. David also serves as an advocate outside of the legal setting, connecting her clients with services, advising rape centers all over North Carolina, and even lobbying successfully for changes in state law.
