This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Michael Goy.
Goy is a retired UNC professor and a volunteer cook with the IFC. One Sunday every month, he leads a team of 6-8 cooks in making dinner for about 40 people at the Community House Shelter. Over 32 years, they have made more than 20,000 meals. It’s something he started doing in Boston and has continued since moving here.
